Da Vinci Kids’ content is designed to entertain children and inspire them to expand their knowledge, building on what they learn at school. After the acquisition of the company by Macademia, an EdTech business, Da Vinci Kids’ brand needed to evolve and step up to fulfil its potential.
The old brand was looking outdated and confused, with no clearly defined style. Our challenge was to develop a bold new brand expression to marry the company’s heritage with a future-facing, modern identity.
Central to the concept was the brand’s message to children and parents that a child can grow up to be whatever they want to be: vet, athlete or astronaut! This comes from the platform's stand-out feature: a huge and diverse range of educational categories. Every element of the brand demonstrated this vision with the use of multiple textures that acted as supporting elements throughout its visual identity.
Nautilus segments taken from the logomark were adapted to contain show characters and photography. We implemented the new brand across core materials including the app, presentations and stationery, with clear direction provided in a set of comprehensive brand guidelines.
